Winter 2020

Dear Readers:

The days are short here in the Midwest, but that means longer nights for cozying up in front of the fire and reading. And nothing makes me happier than a hot cup of tea, some chocolate and a good book!

Being a business owner as well as a writer, my time for reading isn’t as often as I’d like. So when I discover a good book, I find myself torn between working on my manuscript and wanting to read. That’s where I’m at right now.  What am I reading? Well, the Poldark novels, of course. After watching the series and the behind-the-scenes special afterward, I was impressed by the excerpts read aloud from Winston Graham’s novels.

My favorite Christmas gift this year was the complete set of Poldark novels. I’m on the third one now – Jeremy Poldark, and enjoying them immensely. Even though I know the upcoming story line, it’s still rewarding to read the characters’ inner thoughts and learn more about their motivations.

It’s easy to say while watching a show, “Why would he/she do such a thing?” Reading the books, and getting to know the characters more in-depth, I understand more where they are coming from.

If you’re more into the Victorian era, take a peek at my books. Hop on over to the TEMPTING PASSION page, and you can read a short excerpt, and find information for ordering.

TEMPTING PASSION tells the story of Marcus Clayton, Earl of Norbourne. When he quite unceremoniously meets the heroine, Miss Christel Fitzwilliam, he isn’t quite sure what to make of her. You’ll see why when you read the book. She’s quirky, she’s fun, and she’s unpredictable. She’s just what the stoic Earl of Norbourne needs in a match, despite his protests otherwise. If you want to meet Marcus Clayton’s sister, Alanna Clayton, pick up a copy of TEMPTING FATE if you haven’t done so already. Order here! It’s only an eBook for now, but word has it, it will be in print soon! So for those of you who love the printed word in hard copy, hang in there!  It’s coming! If you’ve read TEMPTING FATE, thank you. I’m looking forward to sharing Marcus’s story with you after a family tragedy changes his life forever.

Thank you for continuing with me on this leg of my journey. Although it’s been 25 years since first starting to write TEMPTING FATE, I realized that the writing bug never goes away. I’m happy to be back.

In writing news, I’m hard at work on the third novel in my Tempting series. And I’m visiting a Book Club in February where they’re reading TEMPTING FATE. Visit my News page for dates and other info.

I’m also excited to be part of a venture with fellow historical authors Cari Davis, Deann Smallwood, Dawn Ireland, Barbara Monajem and Madelyn Hill. We’ve joined efforts to bring you a newsletter, LADIES OF THE MUSE. It’s all historical. All romance. ” data-wplink-url-error=”true”>Click here to sign up and receive the newsletter directly to your inbox!

And if I’m not busy enough, I still have my day job.  Professional Organizer and Virtual Assistant by day, writer by night.  Yes, the days can be hectic, but both jobs are fulfilling for different reasons.
